About the Job

Swinburne is embarking on an exciting journey, working towards our new vision of bringing people and technology together to build a better world. We are seeking an outstanding professional to take on the position of Tax and Treasury Manager, and will be the lead advisor for the University. In this role you will deliver the overall view of Swinburne’s taxation framework to drive a suitable control and compliance environment, provide tax advice on new strategic ventures and ensure costs related to indirect taxes is minimised.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is key member of the Financial Control team and will manage a small team of professionals and will be responsible for Treasury related activities such as operational banking, administration for Swinburne’s investment portfolio, cash management and cashflow forecasting for the University.

About you

To be suitable for the role you will possess:

  • Post graduate qualifications, and/or extensive relevant industry experience.
  • Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA). (highly desirable)
  • Experience working in Professional Services, Industry or other large, complex, accounting environment
  • Proven demonstrable tax experience including technical understanding of GST, FBT and income tax (including the application of international tax)
  • Previous experience and/or understanding in treasury and cash flow management
  • Previous experience and/or understanding of banking and investments.
