Role Description

Cranfield University’s world-class expertise, large-scale facilities and unrivalled industry partnerships is creating leaders in technology and management globally. Learn more about Cranfield and our unique impact here.

Education Services welcomes applications from experienced Administrators.

About Education Services

The department’s strategic objectives are to provide a professional and efficient service to the University's Schools in all of these areas.  This requires engagement at all levels within the Schools, and close liaison with other central service departments to provide a coherent student experience.

Within Education Services, there is a unit that has two primary functions: to provide appropriate systems, processes and support for the administrative needs and requirements of current students in relation to the management of their academic progression; and to maintain consistent and accurate student records for all current and previous students.

In this team, a number of staff are embedded within a School and/or Theme and are focussed directly on the front-line delivery of course administration and student support and work closely with the staff in a nominated School to deliver those functions.

The role holder is the high-profile point of contact for the delivery of a specific portfolio of taught courses and/or research programmes, and acts as first line of support for all staff contributing to the courses and programmes, and for the students registered on them.  The likely volume of students to be managed by a SAS Lead is 130-180 per annum.

About the Role

The post holder is responsible for the delivery of allocated academic administration and student support relating to taught and/or research students and for ensuring high levels of customer support and student satisfaction.

The post holder is instrumental in ensuring that the student experience of administrative services on your portfolio of courses and programmes is effective, consistent and of a high standard.  You will work very closely with academic staff (e.g., Course Directors and Module Leaders, Research Student Supervisors) to ensure that the student experience is effective, consistent and of a high standard.

This role will also provide key support for the Jiangsu Joint Institute partnership, including advice and guidance to all staff, supporting flying faculty and servicing committee meetings.

About You

You will be an experienced, self-motivated HE Administrator, with working knowledge of University Regulations, and significant experience of working in partnership with students, Professional Service Unit colleagues and academics. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to prioritise and manage a high volume of work, working quickly and accurately to meet tight deadlines. Proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills are a must.

In return, the successful applicant will have exciting opportunities for career development in this key position, and to supportworld leading research and education, joining a supportive team and environment.

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and whether a position can be carried out at any of our locations.  We commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
