University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and Frog Systems are offering an exciting opportunity to a post graduate in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or with a relevant degree involving a significant amount of software development to support Frog Systems.  Given the strategic important of the project, Frog’s management have indicated their intention to retain the associate post-KTP subject to performance.

Additional internationally recognised academic support will be provided by a close community of industry-focused inter-disciplinary research groups (AVCN and AHCSE) and the successful applicant should exhibit entrepreneurial flair, and proactively communicate with researchers throughout the University.

The successful candidate must possess:

As a minimum, educated to post graduate level in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or a relevant degree that combines aspects of software development

Experience of software development in C/C++, Python or Matlab, APIs (client and server); GNU/Linux; HTML/CSS; Mathematical modelling; Perl; PHP; Scalable services and familiarity with the following technologies would be an advantage: image/video processing, artificial neural network, deep learning, recommendation systems, design and develop data science solutions within a dynamic business/ academic environment; understanding of agile software development methodologies; including software documentation, technical writing, preparation, and delivery of user training; experience of systems integration and optimisation challenges and approaches;

Essential skills we require as a minimum:

Organisational skills with the ability to plan under own initiative and to work to deadlines

Good communication and interpersonal skills including report writing

Ability to collaborate with colleagues and sharing expertise.

Strong analytical and numerical skills

Ability to understand and process data
