Lincoln University is all about unlocking the power of the land to enhance lives and grow futures. The University’s purpose is clear: our research, curriculum and partnerships are dedicated to helping shape a world that benefits from a greater understanding of the relationship between land, food and ecosystems.

Lincoln University was founded in 1878 as a School of Agriculture and has a proud tradition of educating leaders within the land-based sector. The University is home to 3,181 students and 650 staff, three faculties, one teaching division, and maintains 9 farms and 14 research centres. We are New Zealand’s most specialised University, offering a distinct portfolio of academic and research programs aiming to secure improved social, cultural, environmental and conservation outcomes in the areas of agriculture and food, environmental planning and resource management, tourism and recreation, agribusiness, biosecurity and other forms of land use.

The University upholds the articles of the Treaty of Waitangi and our partnership with Māori as Tangata Whenua (people of the land) is fundamental to our future.

We now wish to appoint our next Vice-Chancellor who will be charged with guiding an agenda of measured and collaborative growth. We are seeking an exceptional leader with an authentic commitment to our values and vision; a leader who aligns with our strengths and mission to advance the University’s distinctive contribution to education and research and our relevance to our communities. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide inspirational and entrepreneurial leadership, strengthen the University’s standing as Treaty partner, and facilitate the highest standards of integrity, academic, organisational, and commercial performance across the University, while being a strong external ambassador.
