We seek to appoint an individual at Associate Professor/Professor level in the field of Applied Health and Social Care Research.

The role-holder would contribute to and develop research and knowledge exchange in alignment with Northumbria University’s Applied Health and Social Care strand of REF 2021 Unit of Assessment 3, that consists of three key areas: care innovation and organisation; workforce and practice development; and health and social wellbeing. The successful candidate will have expertise in a relevant field, that may include research on health services, social care, health systems, professional education and workforce development, implementation research, health economics, applied statistics, or another related field. Candidates will have demonstrated strengths in at least one methodology relevant to applied health and social care research. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in research leadership, including mentoring, support, and development of academic research careers.

You must hold a first degree and be qualified to Doctoral level in a relevant discipline and have leading subject expertise as identified gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. Proven ability to deliver high quality research led teaching and a publication profile commensurate with the post of Professor/ Associate Professor are essential.   You will provide expertise to further enhance research and entrepreneurial activities.  This will include undertaking individual and joint research to produce quality academic outputs and inform teaching and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject.

Part-time and Secondment arrangements may be considered.

Currently, due to COVID-19, academic staff will normally be on campus for approximately two days per week when face to face teaching is scheduled, and as required to undertake research using specialist facilities.
