We are seeking an outstanding individual to lead our research and knowledge exchange directorate, as well as progressing our strategic research and knowledge exchange ambitions across the University.  You will be required to coordinate our research agenda working across 5 academic institutes in the broad areas of; Health, Education, Business, Science and Arts as well as supporting our research leaders within our 3 University Research Centres consisting of; 

  • Centre for Research in Health & Society 
  • Centre for National Parks and Protected Areas 
  • Centre for Learning, Education & Development 

We are a modern, thriving young University with a strategic intention of growing our research capacity and increasing our knowledge exchange activities with local partners, businesses and industry.  This is an exciting opportunity for a University that has significant relevance to people, place and partnerships as we launch our new Strategy 2030 over the summer period. 

Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Health, Environment and Innovation) you will be required to coordinate and grow the University's research strengths, opportunities for multi institute research bids as well as developing our academic research culture.  

You will manage a team within the Research Knowledge Exchange Directorate as well as working, supporting and developing research leads across the institutes and research centres. Our Graduate school provides a range of PhD and Doctoral programmes and this role will also provide leadership to the Head of our Graduate School. 

With an outstanding track record of research, you will be expected to work collaboratively with local partners, SME’s and industry as well as being able to demonstrate inclusive, facilitative and people centred leadership skills.  

This appointment will play a significant part in strengthening the University's applied research and knowledge exchange cultures, grow research income and academic skills.
