We are currently developing ambitious plans to create new university campuses in Carlisle and Barrow to ensure we continue to provide flexible and accessible higher education and to provide an excellent learning experience for our students.  

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual as Academic Registrar to lead the implementation of our ambitious plans for the new Academic Registry. As Academic Registrar you will be responsible for, and provide strategic leadership to, a range of professional services/functions which collectively support the overall student journey. Key functional areas include, Quality Assurance and Management, Academic Development, Student Admissions, Programme Administration, Research Degree Administration, Academic Regulations, Appeals and Complaints and Student Data/Returns. The Academic Registry will provide a hub for both the integration of cognate areas of related professional services and alignment with other services beyond the Academic Registry and with our Academic Institutes.

You will have proven experience and a record of delivery of managing at a strategic level. You will also have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the HE sector and the current policy environment and have the ambition to continuously improve the service and support the Academic Registry provides. Ideally with experience of delivery across a multi-campus model, your remit will include provision across our campuses as well as collaborative provision, including degree apprenticeships.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), you will integrate best practice and procedures within the Registry and work across boundaries to ensure consistency and continuity for our service users (students and staff). You will be a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Directorate contributing to the leadership and management of the University.
