The University of Lincoln is an ambitious Higher Education institution. Situated in the heart of a beautiful and historic city it has built an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research, which is reflected in our Gold award in the national Teaching Excellence Framework. The University of Lincoln has been named as the Modern University of the Year in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021. It is also committed to growing student numbers, using new partnerships with external organisations and innovative forms of programme delivery.
The Lincoln School of Design has partnered with the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) to deliver a small number of Year 3 ‘top up’ one-year honours degree design programmes. The new addition to this collaboration is BA Hons Interior Architecture Design (IAD) which commences September 2021.
We are looking for candidates who are dynamic, adaptable and visionary and who have excellent communication skills. They must have a ‘can do’ approach and be driven to achieve. They should demonstrate substantive evidence of meeting deadlines and should have attention to detail in all they do.
The quality of teaching and learning quality are important to us; innovation, creativity, good interpersonal and management skills, and strong leadership are required to enable us to achieve these agendas. You should have experience of innovative curriculum design and development using digital technologies.
We are recruiting a Senior Lecturer who will be the Link Tutor to the new Year 3 ‘top up’ one-year IAD programme. The Link Tutor will take responsibility for the academic quality assurance and management of the Lincoln programme including annual reports. Please note, this role will include remote teaching during the current pandemic measures and involve some early morning working. However, when this situation eases the position will involve travelling to Hong Kong when required to teach, assess, and other duties generally within a two week period.
This appointment will be made to the 'Teaching, Scholarship and Professional Practice' profile, which includes responsibility for conducting scholarly and / or professional practice projects, securing funding for these activities, and working with industry to enhance student employability and the student experience.
This role was previously advertised on the Teaching and Research profile. Previous candidates are welcome to re-apply if they meet the criteria for a Teaching Scholarship and Professional Practice appointment in Interior Architecture and Design.
If you would like to know more about this opportunity, please contact Professor Anne Chick, Head of the Lincoln School of Design, achick@lincoln.ac.uk.
