About the Faculty of Arts - Academic Support Office

Located in the Faculty of Arts, the Academic Support Office (ASO) supports the development, delivery and quality assurance of teaching and learning activities. The ASO manages essential functions in the following key areas: selection, scholarships, undergraduate and graduate coursework programs, graduate research programs, student enrichment, eTeaching, and Work Integrated Learning (WIL).

About the role

As part of the Academic Support Office within the Faculty of Arts, the Gift Implementation Officer contributes to the effective communication, promotion, coordination, administration and compliance of Faculty philanthropically funded scholarships and prizes. Key responsibilities of the position include database management, compliance reporting, committee service and the development of policy, procedures and promotional strategies. The role reports directly to the Gift Implementation Coordinator and works closely with the Associate Dean Partnerships, the Finance team and other key functional areas across the University.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with an ability to relate positively on an individual basis with a wide range of people from students to senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent and informed judgement in problem-solving. 
  • Ability to exercise sensitivity, discretion and confidentiality in interactions with students and academic and professional staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with the ability to manage one’s own time in order to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player, to support colleagues and contribute to the improvement of administrative systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant University statutes and regulations pertaining to Scholarships and Prizes.
  • Extensive database management experience, particularly in relation to gathering, analysing and reporting on statistical data.
