The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) is comprised of the School of Humanities, home to the specialisms of Archaeology, English, Film Studies, History, Modern Languages and Linguistics, Music, and Philosophy, and Winchester School of Art, one of the UK’s leading art and design institutions with a long tradition of creative education and excellence.

FAH invites applications for a key leadership role in our Faculty Operating Service (FOS team). This position reports to and works in collaboration with the Associate Director of Faculty Operations to provide critical operations support commensurate with the complexity and scale of the Faculty, and to lead the FOS team in the delivery of administration aligned with the Faculty’s strategic vision. 

The successful candidate will manage high level strategic projects on behalf of the Faculty Executive, and direct and oversee the FOS team in the delivery of a wide range of FOS core services across the School of Humanities and Winchester School of Art. This is a fantastic opportunity an experienced and proven manager of projects and people, with substantial experience of working in a fast-paced environment. Experience of working in the Higher Education sector would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have the ability to quickly build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, and to motivate teams and deliver change. The FOS team work flexibly across Faculty sites: Avenue Campus; Highfield Campus; Winchester School of Art; and remotely.
