Department

This post will be situated in the Leicester Media School, which is part of the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media. The Leicester Media School has a strong emphasis on the integration of teaching, research and enterprise. We pride ourselves on creating a space where students have excellent learning opportunities. This is delivered by research active staff and media practitioners. The newly-formed Video, Imaging and Sonic Arts (VISA) subject group prizes integrating portfolio-building opportunities and industry engagement alongside the university experience, capitalising on connections to the local businesses and creative communities of Leicester.

 

Role

In this post we are seeking to develop the practical expertise on offer at DMU, and this is a hands-on role for practitioners and practice-based researchers to contribute their knowledge to a successful programme. Applications are invited from candidates with expertise in any area in the field of Media Production, but candidates with expertise related to one or more of the following areas are particularly welcome: live TV broadcast, immersive and digital media, post-production and visual effects, and/or enterprise in the media industries. Knowledge of the Adobe suite is essential. It is an exciting time to join the team and actively contribute to the development of the curriculum.

 

The person

You will ideally hold a doctoral degree in Media Production (or a related discipline) or exhibit exceptional practice-based experience, with the potential to become a future academic leader. You will focus on establishing an academic profile through participation in appropriate teaching and learning activities, as well as further developing your research profile or practice.
