Applications are invited for appointment as Fractional Lecturer (50 - 80%) in the Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 503381), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a medical degree with experience in clinical work, further training in medical ethics or bioethics, and strong interest in medical humanities and ethics.  They should demonstrate solid evidence of teaching with substantial experience in curriculum development. 

The appointee will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the Medical Ethics and Law curriculum at the Faculty, including face-to-face and/or online teaching as required.  He/She will oversee the development of a cohesive and evidence-based framework for medical ethics teaching embedded in other MBBS curricula.  In response to the changing environment of higher education, the appointee will develop innovative teaching and learning activities and assist in drafting assessment tasks and examination questions as necessary.  In addition, he/she will coordinate with clinicians, and assist in designing faculty development activities related to ethics.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
