Cranfield University Information Services welcomes applications from Research Computing Manager.

We are recruiting a Research Computing Manager to lead a small team of technical specialists to deliver highly available, scalable and effective HPC services supporting 1,600 staff and 4,500 students.

The successful applicant will have exciting opportunities for career development in this key IT Infrastructure position, and to support world leading research and education, joining a supportive team and environment.

Cranfield University relies critically on IT to support its demanding academic and professional service goals.

We are seeking experience of building, managing and maintaining highly available and performant HPC systems requiring in-depth knowledge of advanced IT Infrastructure, compute and storage technologies and research applications.

This varied role will include offering support and consultancy for academic and departmental hosted services as well as providing third line technical support to the IT Service Desk and Service Delivery teams.

We would love to hear from you if you have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to engage and influence both high level University staff and external partners.

this role will give you the opportunity to provide input into the strategic direction and planning of Research Computing team activities and you will be expected to keep up to date on relevant technology and proactively look for improvements to service.
