This is an exciting time to join LSHTM. Professor Liam Smeeth has been appointed as the incoming Director with effect from August 2021 and we are coming to the end of our current strategic plan period. The new Strategic Adviser will have the opportunity to shape new ideas and help plan for the future of the School.
As the Strategic Adviser, you will be responsible for providing executive level strategic support and advice to the Director and his executive colleagues. The successful applicant will have a varied role encompassing strategic advice, project management, policy analysis, management and writing speeches and briefs for the Director and his executive team.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and/or have substantial relevant experience and evidence of continuous professional development. You will have significant experience of supporting senior individuals in a large organisation and will have exceptional communication, influencing and diplomacy skill. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with different groups of stakeholders both internal and external to the School.
The post is full-time and offered on a permanent basis. The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 7 in the range £46,704 to £53,465 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). There is scope to offer a market supplement in addition to the basic salary for a suitably experienced candidate. The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
