About the opportunity

The School of Chemistry is one of the largest Chemistry Schools in Australia and has an international reputation for excellence in research, consistently ranking among the top chemistry departments in Australia.

An exciting opportunity currently exists within the School to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the research activities of an ARC Future Fellowship project on "Polymer Nanodiscs". In this role you will contribute to polymer self-assembly and nanomedicine. You will also be responsible for the synthesis of polymers and their characterisation, microscopy, student supervision, and the preparation of scientific manuscripts.

About you

  • a PhD in macromolecular chemistry or a closely-related discipline
  • a demonstrated ability to synthesise and characterize macromolecules
  • technical expertise in microscopy and cell studies
  • high-level problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision
  • excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail, including good written and verbal communication skills
