We are looking to appoint an Information Compliance Officer (initially on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, but an extension may be possible) to support continued efforts to foster and embed a positive culture of compliance across the University. You will support staff across the institution, providing advice and guidance on a range of data protection and information compliance matters, as well as working alongside the University’s Data Protection and Senior Information Compliance Officer to identify opportunities for improvement in respect of the University’s data protection obligations, mitigating risks associated with contravention of relevant legislation.

You will have experience working in information compliance, interpreting legislation, policies and regulations, applying them and providing advice to others on the content, with strong knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation. You can demonstrate a genuine commitment to the highest possible professional standards, confidentiality, excellent relationships with colleagues, and possess the ability to deal with complex problems under pressure. The post-holder will also have responsibility for providing a professional officering service to a small portfolio of senior University committees.
