About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Professor in Construction and Project Management, this teaching focussed position is responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within STEM’s undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs. The position contributes as part of a team to support STEM’s teaching and learning outcomes including scholarship of teaching and learning in Quantity Surveying.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and implement learning activities including lectures, tutorials, and assessments
  • Implement innovative teaching approaches (including face-to-face, online and blended learning) to promote student learning
  • Contribute to the design and development of engaging course curricula and materials that reflect latest research findings and industry practice
  • Undertake a course coordination role and/or provide leadership to other academic staff in the teaching team
  • Demonstrate a commitment to community engagement through activity that raises the profile of the discipline

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A postgraduate degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, or professional/industry experience within an equivalent discipline including registration with an appropriate professional body.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching duties including the design and preparation of teaching activities and resources in the areas of Quantity Surveying in a range of settings and student experience levels
  • High level written and oral communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members, external parties and colleagues
  • Understanding and experience in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies including demonstrated competence using the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery.
