We welcome applications for this exciting new post from prospective Research Fellows in secure wireless IoT systems for sensing networked infrastructure. The project is funded by EPSRC.

About the Role
Our reputation for leading in the field of aerospace and space systems, their communication systems, and signal processing has been established through more than thirty years of research into this field. We are primarily focused in this project on secure wireless IoT systems for sensing networked infrastructure. Our work covers academic provision (MSc and PhD) and research. Research works span from fundamental research and development to single client contract research and development. As Research Fellow you will contribute to the research activities of the Centre for Autonomous and Cyber-Physical Systems, especially concerning the specific activities of: (1) physical layer security protocol design for IoT sensors, (2) cyber-physical system modelling, and (3) integrated testing on simulation and SDR hardware platforms.
Using your practical experience and knowledge of design and building secure wireless communication demonstrations, you will be expected to collaborate with the existing staff working in the area and have regular communications and meetings with our collaborators within the university, the industrial partner, or in other international universities. You will be expected to communicate scientific results effectively through reports and presentations at national and international meetings/conferences, and to prepare articles suitable for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Therefore, you will need to have highly developed communication and project management skills. You will be expected to be proactive in resolving problems, work to tight deadlines and work well as part of a team.
You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject (ideally with a PhD in wireless communications, signal processing, radio electronics), and have a good record of accomplishment in research outputs through peer-reviewed publication and conferences of the sector. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of significant independent contribution to the design and execution of research, and have experience in designing, training and the validation of secure wireless systems. High proficiency in programming with languages such as MATLAB is also required.
