An exciting opportunity has arisen for x1 Permanent Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Policing and x1 3-Year Fixed Term Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Policing in the Division of Community and Criminal Justice to join our growing team!

The Division of Community and Criminal Justice is part of the School of Applied Social Sciences, one of four specialist schools, also including Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences, Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Leicester School of Pharmacy.


The role

The role will be focused on delivering the Policing undergraduate programmes including the Degree Holder Entry Programme in Policing (DHEP) and/or Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA). Typically, your teaching duties will include preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars, supervision of final year projects, contributing to the personal tutoring scheme, and the devising and marking of assessments.


The person

You will have recent operational or academic experience of policing, including the deployment and evaluation of current policing methodologies. Additionally, you will have professional or higher education teaching/training experience in the field of UK policing and ideally hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the University community.
