Deakin is a significant leader in a number of engineering research areas including water engineering, advanced manufacturing, design engineering and power engineering. Design and innovation are the heart of engineering at Deakin.

As Associate Research Fellow, you will play a key role in the development of advanced data analytics for pressure and acoustic monitoring systems in water distribution systems. In this role, you will be utilising your skills in signal processing, machine learning and making a positive impact to the water industry by contributing to preventative water asset management.

This is a great opportunity to gain excellent research training and hands-on industry experience through working collaboratively and closely with academic collaborators and industry partners.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide an excellent contribution to the Faculty’s research programs through high-quality research and publications.
  • Contribute effectively to PhD supervision and research development.
  • Develop relationships with research, community, industry and government for enhanced research outcomes.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • PhD degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience and qualification.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in fields related to signal processing, statistics and/or machine learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Passion in making a contribution to communities through research and innovation.
