THE DEAN OF FACULTY OF STUDIES INVITES APPLICATIONS for the position of Assistant Professor at Department of Media Studies and Journalism

Extent: 20 – 40 hours / week

Start: September 1st, 2021

Deadline: June 2, 2021

Job description: 

• teaching in the Czech language, in Bachelor and Masters programs;
• supervision of the Bachelor and Masters theses;
• research and academic publishing;

Required qualifications and competencies:

• Ph.D. or its equivalent in media studies or related disciplines;
• focus on teaching and research in the field of media studies and mass communication, preferably with focus on media effects and qualitative research methods;
• relevant publications;
• an ability to provide teaching in Czech and English;
• an ability for teamwork;
• an ability for future professional individual development.

Application attachments:

• letter of motivation and a detailed proposal of 1 theoretical course for undergraduate students of media studies and journalism, 1 theoretical course for graduate students of media studies and 1 methodological course for graduate students of media studies, all in the Czech language;
• CV and copy of documents of education and related certificates;
• list of publications (including citations);
• list of research projects the applicant led or joined in last 5 years;
• list of courses taught by the applicant and list of theses supervised by the applicant;
• list of conferences and international internships attended by the applicant.
