Role Description

Cranfield University’s world-class expertise, large-scale facilities and unrivalled industry partnerships is creating leaders in technology and management globally. Learn more about Cranfield and our unique impact here.

Education Services provides a wide range of support to the University's Schools.  The department’s strategic objectives are to provide a professional and efficient service to the University's Schools in all of these areas.  This requires engagement at all levels within the Schools, and close liaison with other central service departments to provide a coherent student experience.

Registry is comprised of two teams; Student Records and Exams.  This vacancy is for a Registry Administrator within the Student Records team. The daily work of this team is primarily working with the student records database (SITS): monitoring assignment submissions and exam attendance, entering marks and processing changes to registration. This daily work follows the annual Student Records team task of creating modules within the database and creating corresponding submission points on the virtual learning environment.

About the Role

The Registry Administrator will also be required to:

  • Ensure that all activities of the Registry are completed in a timely manner, including providing relevant reports on activities to the Registry Manager on workloads and completion of tasks
  • Respond to enquiries and provide guidance to staff and students on the Senate Regulations and Handbooks and/or referring more complex queries to Senior Registry Administrators to respond to
  • Participate in major student events, including main registration events, archiving exercises and graduation
  • Other general duties assigned to the post holder by his or her line manager or senior officers in Education Services, commensurate with the level and duties of the post

About You

The post holder will hold a GCSE in English, or equivalent.  Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative office environment, using modern office equipment and experience of data entry are essential.

The post holder will be IT literate, including word, email, internet and database applications; an adaptable team member who on occasions is able to work on own initiative, unsupervised with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.

Previous experience of working with computer-based records systems and preferably SITS (Tribal Student Records System) and an understanding of higher education administration are desirable.
