The Southern Universities Network (SUN) comprises a number of higher education providers, further education (FE) colleges, schools, and other organisations in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It is part of the Uni Connect programme; funded by the Office for Students, Uni Connect aims to reduce the gap in higher education participation between the most and least represented groups.

This post will be based at University of Southampton, supporting the wider SUN team with all aspects of administration involved with the delivery of the Uni Connect Programme. Key aspects of the role will be the first point of contact for the SUN team, providing the day-to-day administration for the operational running of the team as well as event administration and maintenance of the SUN Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. 

The successful candidate will be customer focused, flexible in their approach and work closely with the SUN central team based at Southampton in providing support to the areas of communication, data collection and basic financial administration such as processing invoices. 

They should have previous experience in an administrative role and working within a team environment. They should possess excellent communication, organisational and inter-personal skills. They should demonstrate high attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and within relevant policies and procedures. They will be a team player who will relish the challenge of working in a collaborative setting. They should be approachable, well organised and adaptable. 

This is a part time position (0.8 FTE) fixed term until 31/07/2022 in which we can offer some flexibility around working days and hours. In the first instance this will be based as home-working but with the ability to attend core meetings on the University campus as required.
