Job Description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Fellow (postdoctoral fellow) positions with demonstrated research experience in air pollution control, or in air pollution science (air pollution chemistry, source apportionment of air pollutants, data analysis and modelling (CFD modelling)).

The term of appointment shall be up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The remuneration and benefits are internationally competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Leave and medical benefits will be provided.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree and interdisciplinary training in Engineering and/or Science (or has submitted the Ph.D. thesis for examination), have a record of high impact peer-reviewed journal publications related to the topics mentioned above, demonstrate prior experience in designing and conducting laboratory & field experiments, statistical data analysis and possess excellent quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • The ideal candidate is expected to be self-motivated and have the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment. Emphasis will also be placed on personal qualities such as cross-disciplinary collaboration skills. It is important that you have an ability to work independently, plan and perform experimental work, present results, prepare manuscripts for publication and assist in student supervision. You will work in an international environment and, therefore, very good oral and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with academic background and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: environmental engineering, environmental science, chemical engineering, aerosol science, and atmospheric chemistry.
  • Good organisational skills and adaptability
