  • Remuneration at Academic Level A ($68,983 - $ 93,569) or Academic Level B ($98,495 - $116,965) + 17% superannuation

About the Role

AS the ECDF, you will be part of the academic community within the Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Discipline and will contribute to teaching and course coordination at an undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as conducting research activities within the Discipline in the following areas: digital aviation and digital technologies in aviation management, airline and airport operations, airport automation, avionics, big data and data analysis. In this role, you will also be expected to promote your teaching and research activities by establishing and maintaining industry links and partnerships and work in collaboration with fellow academics and the teaching and research community.

About You

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Demonstrated evidence of casual teaching for an Australian University within the past three years and have not been employed on a continuing basis at an Australian University
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver courses at undergraduate and graduate levels relevant to the position
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative in teaching, including online or blended delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or course materials, as well as ability to undertake course coordination
  • Demonstrated capacity to adhere to organisational policies and practices and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning, particularly in an online learning environment
  • An emerging track record with evidence of international recognition for quality research outputs that contribute to the Disciplines and Schools research in the form of publications, the development of new research initiatives and\or industry links in areas relevant to the position
  • Experience in the supervision of higher degree by research candidates
  • Ability to build networks with colleagues, participate as a team member in funded projects and preferably experience in the submission of competitive research grant proposals

Qualifications

Mandatory: PhD or equivalent research doctorate in related field.

Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation).

To be eligible to apply, candidates must have:

  • Performed casual teaching work at an Australian University within the past three years and must not have been employed on a continuing basis at an Australian University
  • Applicants who have previously been employed on a fixed-term basis at an Australian University are eligible for this position, however the requirement remains to also have performed casual teaching work as per the above parameters.
