This is a great opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of academic and industry practitioners, leading and delivering a collaborative and innovative technology project between Northumbria University and Turner & Townsend Consulting Ltd (T&T). The project, titled ‘Digital Design Management’, aims to use information modelling technology to create a digital design management service, and an integrated decision-support platform (i.e., web-based dashboard), to facilitate collaboration and increase productivity in construction projects.

This requires an individual with leadership skills as well as technology talent, meaning expertise in software and data engineering, analytics, design and user experience, and familiarity with API technology. The successful applicant will be required to take an existing design brief and detailed design documentation and develop a digital dashboard solution that integrates information from multiple data sources.

As such, you will be responsible for the rapid development of the service and platform in an ambitious project supporting the delivery of the core business strategy of T&T, a multinational professional services company specialising in programme management, project management, cost management and consulting across the property, and infrastructure sectors.

Within T&T, their in-house Technology team (our partner) already has interests in digital assets, data and analytics, technology systems, and security. The project team will support T&T to redesign current ‘analogue’ processes for design management through the production of a digital decision-support platform which will be used to create a new capability in design management offering enhanced services to T&T’s global clients for construction projects.

This project provides an opportunity to take a leading role in an ambitious project concerned with developing a digital design management service.
