About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Lecturer in Power Engineering, who will either be a Teaching Academic or a Teaching and Research Academic, depending on the background and career trajectory of the successful applicant.

A Teaching Academic will be responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within STEM’s undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs. The role will contribute as part of a team to support STEM’s teaching and learning outcomes including Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SOTL) in Power Engineering.

A Teaching and Research Academic will contribute to the teaching, scholarship, research and professional activities of UniSA STEM. The role will contribute independently and as part of a team to support STEM’s teaching and research outcomes in Power Engineering and to maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional activities.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A postgraduate degree in Power Engineering, or relevant professional/industry experience in Power Engineering (including registration with an appropriate professional body)
  • Development and delivery of teaching and learning in the areas of Renewable Energy Systems and Power Systems Engineering
  • Solid communication and teamworking skills
  • Experience with a range of technologies and administration

Appointment to a Teaching and Research Academic role will also require:

  • PhD qualification in Power Systems Engineering or a relevant discipline
  • Established early research record including success in conference and high impact journal publications in Power Engineering
  • Ability to contribute to, and build upon, the established research and scholarship strengths of the Academic Unit
