Job Details

Working within the Department of Architecture and the Built Environment, you will provide expertise in the discipline of Quantity Surveying to further  enhance teaching, research and entrepreneurial activities. This will include designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and joint research to produce high-quality academic outputs, and participating in external activity to generate income, co-create learning and promote the subject.  

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with previous industry experience with strengths in cost and procurement aspects in construction and/or civil engineering.  Experience of supporting apprentices and employers in the workplace, and in an education setting would also be preferred.

The Department has particular strengths in the following core research areas:

Digital Construction

Sustainable construction

Procurement and value for money

Construction contract management


You must hold a first degree and if not already qualified to Doctoral level in a relevant discipline you must have a strong desire to be so.  You will have subject expertise in Quantity Surveying with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy.
