Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for position of Research Assistant in the Department of Ophthalmology Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments will be made on a 1 year contract basis with the possibility of extension.
Purpose of the post
Working with their direct supervisor and lab Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Assistant supports, facilitates, and coordinates the daily research activities and plays a critical role in the progress of the lab projects. The RA reports to their direct supervisor and Principal Investigator.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and execute experiments on a daily basis as tasked by direct supervisor
- Conduct molecular and cell biology experiments (Eg cell culture, western blot, q-RTPCR)
- Summary of experimental results for project update meetings
- Support laboratory for general lab maintenance, stock taking and administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Degree in Bachelors of Science and Life Science disciplines
- Prior experience in molecular and cell biology techniques.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, work independently and also as part of a team
- Good communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
