The successful candidate will work with A/P Fan Wai Yip on physical inorganic chemistry under a project on Designing metal complexes for reduction catalysis.
The main responsibilities of the position include;
Carry out synthesis and characterization of transition metal complexes to be used for reduction catalysis. These earth-abundant metal complexes comprising nickel, iron or cobalt metal centers may be useful for homogenous catalysis such as molecular proton reduction, disulfide reduction and dehalogenation processes. The main techniques used will be cyclic voltammetry, infrared and NMR spectroscopy.
- Qualifications / Discipline: preferably BSc (Hons) in Chemistry or equivalent
- Skills: basic synthetic skills in inorganic chemistry; Able to carry out spectroscopic and electrochemical characterization of metal complexes
- Experience: preferably has some experience carrying out inorganic or organic chemistry experiments.
Location: Kent Ridge Campus
Department : Chemistry
