The Natural Resources Institute of the University of Greenwich seeks applications for a Director of Business Development and Partnerships.
The role has arisen because of the planned retirements of NRI’s Commercial Director and Director of Capacity Strengthening and Partnerships in 2021. This role combines elements of these two posts with a focus on enterprise and knowledge exchange funding development within the context of international development.
We are proud of our high standards of applied research and enterprise which support economic growth, social impact and sustainability. The Natural Resources Institute has an excellent track record in research, enterprise and knowledge exchange generating in excess of the £14 million per annum as well as winning two Queen’s Anniversary Prizes in the past decade.
The Natural Resources Institute has taken great strides in recent years, not least due to the commitment and energy of our staff to achieve great things against an increasingly complex and challenging external environment.

To help achieve our ambition, we are seeking an outstanding individual who will add strategic and commercial insight and experience to the talented management team of the Natural Resources Institute. The successful candidate will work as part of this team to:
- To develop strategic alliances and implement strategies that adapt to and, where possible, anticipate change and by so doing create alternate income streams covering research, enterprise and knowledge exchange.
- To ensure that NRI moves to a more proactive and less reactive footing in terms of research and enterprise income for activities focussed on the UK and/or the global south
