About the Role

This role will be responsible for contributing to the teaching, scholarship, research and professional activities of UniSA Education Futures. The Lecturer: Aboriginal Education will develop, coordinate and deliver high quality courses and work collaboratively and reciprocally with staff in other Academic Units and partner organisations. The role will make a significant contribution to the Academic Unit’s research agenda and will carry out activities to maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional activities with a specific focus on Aboriginal Education.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver courses on campus, offshore, online etc.
  • Apply research and scholarship to the development of courses and coordinate their timely delivery
  • Provide academic counselling and advice to students
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activity aligned to Aboriginal Education
  • Supervise/co-supervise higher degree by research students
  • Create, foster and enhance national and international links with relevant bodies

Essential Criteria

  • Identification as an Australian Aboriginal person with sound knowledge and understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal communities
  • Current enrolment or completing a PhD qualification aligned with Aboriginal Education
  • Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment
  • Commitment to establishing a program of research
  • High level interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills and the ability to work as a member of a diverse team
