Job Description

A research assistant position is available at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, College of Science, UAE University. The position is funded by the Research grant “Implementation of Numerical computing in Mathematics curriculum” by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in UAE. The position is for one year with possibility of renewal or extension depending on the availability of funding. The package include a monthly salary of 5000 AED (depending on qualification and experience) and medical insurance. The focus of the research is in Mathematics Education. The candidate is required to know the basics about some computer programming languages (for example, Python). He/she will then implement the Numerical computing parts (by using Python) into the Mathematics curriculum for those courses. Part of the duties is to demonstrate the usefulness of the numerical computing parts in lab classes to students, and hold workshops for high school teachers.
