Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Tourism
Reference: BB3021-21-097
Brighton Business School
Salary: £35,845 to £51,034 per annum
At Brighton, we encourage our students and staff to explore their passions and their curiosity through individual research interests and interdisciplinary collaboration. Brighton Business School’s main objective is to advance teaching and research focused on responsible enterprise and business management that makes a real difference. We are proud that REF 2014 judged our Business and Management research to be the 5th most impactful and top 20 for world-leading research impact in Leisure and Tourism within the UK. We are currently working towards gaining an AACSB accreditation.
As part of our expansion strategy, we are seeking to appoint someone at either lecturer or senior lecturer level who can contribute to the teaching of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in tourism and supervise our growing number of PhD students.
We are looking for candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and an innovative approach to delivering the curriculum. Ideally you will have experience of higher education and hold a PhD (or near completion).
Applicants specialising in any business-related or social science aspect of tourism, including its planning, development, management and/or marketing, are encouraged to apply. We particularly welcome applicants with experience and interest in sustainability and responsibility in tourism and/or digitalisation, entrepreneurship, attraction management, heritage management and/or event tourism. We are looking for applicants who have experience of, and the ability to teach a range of tourism subjects.
In the role, continuing academic development is expected as a means of keeping up to date with developments in those areas reflecting the changes in the tourism business landscape and environment. We encourage applications from staff who are research active.
Job sharers welcome.
If you wish to enquire about the post, please contact: Professor Marina Novelli at M.Novelli@brighton.ac.uk or Dr Nigel Jarvis at N.D.Jarvis@brighton.ac.uk
