Research Fellow, Metallic Foams, Processing and Simulation
A postdoctoral research position is available now in the Mechanical Engineering Department. The main objective is to develop the advanced metallic foams for sound-absorbing applications. The scope of research includes process development, simulation and materials characterisation. Previous hands-on experience and publications on metallic foams, finite element simulation, powder processing and/or additive manufacturing are highly recommended. National University of Singapore is ranked top in Asia Pacific, and a competitive benefits package will be provided based on the academic qualifications. The research fellow will drive the research direction, conduct experiments, analyse results and publish scientific papers. If interested, please send your CV with a list of publications to email@example.com. However, only shortlisted applicants will be notified.
The successful candidate should have a PhD degree (or expect the degree within 6 months) in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering, with demonstrated capabilities listed below:
- Powder metallurgy and characterisation;
- Finite element simulation (e.g. COMSOL, Abacus, etc.);
- Powder processing or additive manufacturing process;
- Creative, self-motivated, and good communication skills;
- Strong publication record.
