We are a university looking to the future where we serve and develop our local, national and international communities by creating purposeful knowledge and research, confident and creative graduates and a dynamic and engaged workforce. We will achieve this through a culture of enterprise and innovation.

Research & Enterprise is a central professional support department which works with staff, industry (private, public and third sector), external partners (e.g. Local Enterprise Partnership, Midlands Engine etc.), students and graduates to drive:

  • A dynamic research environment
  • Increased levels of graduate employment and progression
  • Innovation & productivity levels throughout our region.

We use all these elements together and separately to build wide and deep external partnerships, further developing our role as an ‘active anchor institution’.

This exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Business Development Officer to support the successful delivery of the Productivity Programme for Greater Lincolnshire, a three-year European Funded programme. The programme is designed to raise awareness, inspire, motivate and support process and productivity improvements within eligible SMEs. The post holder will work as part of the Research and Enterprise team within the wider Research and Enterprise Department to support the overall successful delivery of the programme of activity.

This position, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, is critical to the support and delivery of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership’s innovation strategy, enabling regional SMEs to access support and funding for innovation and growth. The role will be focused on supporting businesses to develop and implement innovative products, processes and practices. The main focus will be on supporting businesses to access Productivity Vouchers and grant funding, building the relationships and continued engagement with the company that will lead on to further local, national and international funding opportunities.

The post holder will provide effective and efficient business development activity, ensuring that work conforms to both the University and European quality standards, guidelines and procedures. The post holder will need to be responsive and pro-active to meet the various priorities as they develop and change throughout the life of the programme.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Jessica Boot-Marshall, Acting Industrial Partnerships Manager – jbootmarshall@lincoln.ac.uk
