Job Description
The National University of Singapore will hire a Research Fellow (post-doc) with specialization in syntactic and/or semantic theory. The position is for two years, ideally beginning summer or fall 2021, with possibility of renewal.
The Research Fellow will have the opportunity to pursue their independent research program and engage with the syntax/semantics community at NUS https://mitcho.com/lab/ . Interest in or experience with the study of languages of Southeast Asia is a plus. There is no teaching obligation. Funds exist for fieldwork, experimentation, and publication expenses, as well as for international conference travel if and when applicable. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The Research Fellow must have their PhD in hand by the start of the position. Candidates with three years of postdoctoral experience and commensurate track record may be considered at the level of Senior Research Fellow.
The deadline for applications is May 10, 2021. Applications should include:
- a cover letter including notes on research interests and a brief plan for your time in Singapore
- a CV
- two examples of previous work
- the completed Personal Data Consent Form for job applicants available from http://www.nus.edu.sg/careers/files/NUS-Personal-Data-Consent-for-Job-Applicants.pdf
The candidate should also arrange for two letters of recommendation, including one by the main PhD supervisor, to be sent directly to synsempostdoc@groups.nus.edu.sg. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Please write synsempostdoc@groups.nus.edu.sg with any questions.
