Educational Lab Developer

Multiple Canberra based positions available across a range of classifications (four positions available)

Classification: ANU Officer 7 (Technical), Academic Level A and Academic Level B

Salary package:

  • ANUO7: $86,523 - $92,957 per annum plus 17% superannuation
  • Level A: $73,309 - $92,015 per annum plus 17% superannuation
  • Level B: $99,809 - $113,165 per annum plus 17% superannuation

The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is dedicated to contributing to The Australian National University’s reputation for excellence in research and research-led education, bringing together expertise across a range of areas to reimagine the role of engineering and computing for future generations. CECS is a diverse and vibrant community dedicated to discovery and to making knowledge matter.

The School of Engineering (SoEn) is a new organisation, springing from foundations in systems, information, and renewable energy engineering at the ANU. It is a leading centre for research in renewable energy and related technologies, systems, control, communications and signal processing. The School of Engineering will initially have four broad focus areas, or activity clusters: Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering. The Transformative Education Experiences portfolio within the School of Engineering exists to promote, support and foster better educational outcomes for our staff and student community both within and outside the School of Engineering.

Position overview

These positions are fixed term appointments for a period of 2 years. There are up to four positions available to contribute to development of engineering labs in courses within the Bachelor of Engineering program, which offers majors (specializations) in Electronics and Communications, Renewable Energy Systems, Mechatronics, Environmental and *Aerospace (*subject to formal approval). These majors align with the four research activity clusters for the School which are Electrical, Mechatronics, Environmental and Aerospace engineering. The positions sit within the Transformative Education Experiences portfolio and report to the Associate Director (Education).

The successful applicant is expected to focus on educational lab development and work closely with the academic and technical staff within the School of Engineering to design and translate innovative concepts and activities into practical educational lab activities, aligned with the course learning outcomes, to enhance the educational experiences of our students. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and creative person with a passion for engineering education, and be knowledgeable about innovative lab-based teaching and learning approaches, technologies and software.
