The Directorate of Student and Academic Services is seeking to appoint a Head of Accommodation Services, a key role in the delivery of our services to students.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of our accommodation service, providing over 2,400 places in halls on or near our campuses at Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway. You will be responsible for delivering the best possible experience for our students and enjoy the challenge of creating new ways to deliver a proactive and responsive service which meets the changing needs of our students.

The post holder will be a professional, hands on and pro-active team member with proven experience of working in busy customer facing residential operations and we welcome applications from a range of backgrounds and experience. Flexible and self-motivated, the successful applicant will have significant leadership and management skills gained in the field. They will be responsible for the management and prioritisation of the work of the team as well as strategic operations, policy development, budget management and financial planning. Experience and understanding of working in an environment where the voice of service users and their wellbeing is central, is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal written and presentation skills, be able to meet the needs of a diverse service area that complies with regulatory and other compliance standards. You will demonstrate effective interpersonal and communications skills, strong and innovative problem-solving and the ability to manage a demanding workload with an outcomes focused approach to service development. The post-holder will also be required to attend Open Days and student recruitment events and be on call outside of normal office hours, as part of a team rota.
