Applications are invited for a Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) role in the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering. This is a 5-year position. The School has recently launched a new undergraduate dual-degree programme in Automotive Engineering at the Chang'an-Dublin International College (CDIC), a joint college of UCD and Chang'an University, in Xi'an, China. The successful applicant will play a key role in the delivery of this programme and will spend one trimester teaching in Chang'an University each year with the remainder of their time spent at UCD. The School will provide the successful candidate with funding to support a PhD student for a four-year period, on commencement of the post.

The School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering is a dynamic, research-driven school with a clear focus on delivering excellent teaching programmes. The School is home to Ireland's national manufacturing research centre, www.i-form.ie, and its faculty conduct research in all aspects of mechanical engineering. The successful appointee will be encouraged to develop their own research agenda in a relevant area.

The School is recruiting suitably qualified candidates, with an expertise in Automotive and/or Mechanical Engineering, and with a strong background in Materials Science and/or Solid Mechanics.

• a 2-page research statement, outlining their research plans;
• a 2-page teaching statement, outlining their planned approach to teaching and module development.

Lecturer/Assistant Professor Above the Bar Salary scale: €54,848- €86,235 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
