We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and talented individual to join a dedicated and innovative team.  If you are an experienced academic with a background in Adult Nursing this is an excellent opportunity for you to make a difference utilising your professional healthcare expertise to develop your career.  

The School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership in the Faculty of Health Studies delivers a range of programmes for health and social care professionals at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  We deliver programmes on two sites: Bradford University Campus and Dewsbury District Hospital, with occasional work externally, on weekends and abroad.  A significant part of our provision is the undergraduate pre-registration Nursing programme in adult, mental health and children's nursing.  You will work with a team to manage and deliver on all aspects of nursing.  In addition to contributing to undergraduate nursing, there will be opportunity for you to be involved in other provision including Nursing Associates and continuing professional development programmes.  The School team work closely together sharing resources across programmes and contributing expertise where it is required to allow staff to play to their strengths and ensure we provide an excellent student experience.  

You should be passionate about health professional education and demonstrate a commitment to the provision of high-quality teaching that makes a difference to the provision of quality care and services in healthcare.   You will contribute to programme delivery, curricula development and innovative teaching, learning and assessment, across under-graduate and post-graduate provision. You will demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to be innovative and creative while making use of development opportunities to improve self and the School. 

In addition to teaching and learning provision, the University empowers and encourages staff to develop their own research profile.  The University delivers internationally leading, interdisciplinary research and innovation that shapes and benefits future societies. Our internationally renowned applied health research undertaken in partnership with the NHS is impacting positively on health outcomes locally and regionally and is contributing to knowledge of international significance. Colleagues from the Faculty of Health Studies helped to establish the Born in Bradford cohort study and continue to lead many of its recent developments. The University has invested significantly in high quality research facilities and space such as the Digital Health Enterprise Zone (DHEZ, in collaboration with the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council), and the Wolfson Centre for Applied Health Research (CAHR, in collaboration with the University of Leeds, Bradford Institute for Health Research, and the Wolfson Institute). The latter is supported by high quality new appointments at senior level many of them in the Faculty of health Studies: Prof Siobhan Reilly, Director of the Centre for Applied Dementia Studies and lead for Healthy Aging, Prof Rebecca Randell lead for Health Technologies for Quality and Safety and Dr Andy Daly-Smith lead for Healthy Childhood and Physical Activity. We have proven additional strengths in Diversity and Inclusion (Prof Udy Archibong) as well as Radiography and Imaging (Prof Beverly Snaith and Prof Maryann Hardy).
