Department of Digital and Data Driven Marketing 

Southampton Business School has an ambitious quality driven strategy, which will see us strengthen our position as a world-class Business School in research, education and enterprise. As an AMBA and AACSB accredited Business School we are seeking to recruit a number of outstanding individuals for key research and teaching positions in a number of disciplines as outlined below to play a crucial role in the School achieving its vision.

The Business School is a strong part of the University with successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, a large PhD portfolio as well as an MBA and DBA.  

The Digital and Data Driven Marketing Department at Southampton consistently ranks as one of the top marketing departments in the UK according to the Complete University Guide. Comprising of 17 academics, our teaching and research interests include digital marketing, marketing strategy, consumer behaviour, brand management, luxury marketing, services marketing, entrepreneurship, and marketing analytics. The department members have published their research in the top-tier journals including: Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of World Business, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Research, and Industrial Marketing Management among others. The department has a thriving undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio, which is built on the research strengths and focus of department staff.  

We are looking for candidates with a passion for marketing and particularly welcome applications from candidates with an emerging or established profile in the areas of marketing analytics, applied digital marketing, advertising and promotions, and marketing strategy to join our thriving community. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with a strong quantitative background. 

You will have a PhD (or equivalent degree/professional qualifications and experience) as well as a well-established academic reputation in your specialist discipline, demonstrated by a significant record of high quality published research at a minimum ABS3*level (or equivalent standing). Visible, engaged and collegiate, you will have extensive experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and be passionate about developing and disseminating successful learning techniques, as well as a track record in securing research funding.   

For applicants interested in a Part Time role, please note: This role is unlikely to support a Certificate of Sponsorship with a part time salary amount (a Certificate of Sponsorship is required to obtain a Skilled Worker visa to work in the UK).
