  • Based at the Menzies Centre for Health Policy within the Charles Perkins Centre
  • Full time or Part time (0.8 FTE) fixed term until 1st March 2025 at Academic Level B; offering a base salary of $108K p.a., plus leave loading and generous employer's contribution to superannuation

About the opportunity

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Centre of Research Excellence for "Integrated Community Care for People with Complex Multi-morbidities" is a 5-year program spanning multiple Universities and institutions.

The Research Fellow oversees the management of and undertakes research for the Centre for Research Excellence. This includes day-to-day coordination of the Centre, oversight of projects across streams, project design, ethical approvals, liaising with key internal and external stakeholders and managing a network of researchers and policy makers. He/ she reports on the progress of the research including to external funding bodies.

The incumbent will work with the Chief Investigators to undertake high-level analysis to draw lessons from a series of integrated care projects linked with the CRE which seek to improve care and health services. The Research Fellow will also have opportunities to pursue their own academic interests in accordance with their expertise within the field of health systems research and as it aligns with the work of the CRE. They will also have considerable scope to be involved in policy translation.

  • has a PHD in health or social sciences, or other relevant discipline demonstrated high-level skills in health policy analysis and evaluation
  • has experience in the conduct and management of research projects from conception to completion
  • is confident in preparation of research protocols and ethics submissions
  • has a developing research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in the discipline or area of expertise
  • has a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
  • has experience in quantitative or qualitative data collating, cleaning, coding and analysis
  • has the demonstrated ability to write reports and track record of academic publication
  • has demonstrated understanding of health and social care delivery to marginalised populations (desirable).
