The School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Greenwich is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Sociology. The School is based at the historic world heritage site of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and also at our Bathway site in Woolwich where our Drama provision is delivered. We have a strong interdisciplinary ethos and the School prides itself on the support provided to students throughout their studies, enhancing their knowledge, skill set, confidence and employability.

We are looking for a Lecturer who can teach on our Sociology single honours and combined honours courses, contributing to the successful delivery of team-taught modules and engaging in curriculum development. Candidates should have expertise in two or more of the following areas: quantitative or mixed method research; racial and ethnic studies; social justice and inclusion; sociology of crime and deviance; sociology of health and illness. 

You should be actively engaged in research that will contribute to the Centre for Applied Sociology Research and expertise of working with national and international networks or partners would be an advantage. You would join the dedicated Sociology programme team, helping to develop our external and international profile whilst expanding activities related to community and public/social engagement.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills and experience of successfully delivering high-quality teaching.
