Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Senior Power System Researcher within UCD School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

We invite applications for a Research Fellow position on the project "Blockchain transactions in the electricity industry: beyond tokenised energy". The successful candidate will be responsible for original academic research, focused on investigating how blockchain smart contracts can be designed to unlock value within energy systems. The project will include investigating novel use cases for smart contracts, exploring the scope for innovations such as new decentralised hedging facilities, profit sharing mechanisms and community governance structures. A key theme will be creating an ecosystem of value through blockchain instruments that complement and derive value from different types of energy transaction.

The successful applicant will work closely with Dr. Thomas Morstyn and a counterpart full-time researcher at the University of Edinburgh, as this will be a closely collaborative project between the Irish and UK project partners.

Fixed Salary: €54,717 per annum
