Assistant Lecturer in the Centre for Applied English Studies (Ref.: 503557) (to commence on August 25, 2021 to June 30, 2022)

Applicants should be a qualified language teacher who possess a university degree or equivalent, and can demonstrate a proven interest in language teaching.  They should preferably have a recognized postgraduate qualification, at Master’s level or equivalent in Applied Linguistics or related disciplines.  Applicants are expected to have 3 years’ experience in teaching EAP or EFL to post-secondary students, preferably at the tertiary level.  The Centre is specifically looking for candidates who can bring experience related to (i) academic literacy teaching and materials development for undergraduate students, (ii) out-of-class communication support and materials development in four strands e.g. writing, speaking, digital literacy and general language advising and (iii) blended-learning teaching and materials development.

The appointee is expected to show the ability to meet the needs of students through their teaching, as evidenced by positive student feedback, and teach across a range of courses.  Information about the Centre can be obtained at http://caes.hku.hk/.
