Job description

The School of Law seeks to appoint a lecturer in international trade law who will undertake research in line with the School of Law’s research strategy and teach at postgraduate level on international trade and/or international economic law. This will include supervision at doctoral level as required. They will also teach at undergraduate level in private law, and contribute to School’s administration/outreach activity.

The post-holder would contribute to core and elective teaching on the LLM International Business Law and support teaching on at least one related Foundations modules, preferably contract law.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A degree in Law (2.1 or above)
  • A PhD in Law or cognate discipline
  • A publication record (including papers about to publish) in good quality peer reviewed journals and/or with relevant publishers, commensurate with stage of career. Demonstrated ability to publish at internationally-excellent level, with clear potential to make a strong contribution to the School’s performance
  • Research interests that are sustainable and which complement the research strategy of the School of Law within the field of international trade and/or international economic law
  • Relevant teaching experience in a law school context, commensurate with stage in career
  • Ability to contribute to the teaching of private law subject areas at undergraduate level (at least one of Tort, Contract, Land Law, Equity & Trusts)
  • Ability to contribute to the teaching of international trade law at postgraduate level
  • Ability to contribute to teaching and curriculum development on the LLM International Business Law.
