Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (holding the title of Project Manager) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 503417), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, public health or related disciplines, with relevant post-doctoral work experience in managing large-scale research projects. They should have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Experience in managing health-related research projects including multi-site international studies or community-based studies would be an advantage.

The appointee will join the antimicrobial resistance research group to manage and coordinate a wide range of research processes and activities. He/She will liaise with site partners and funding agencies; coordinate on-site assessment of local fieldwork operations; handle clinical specimens; manage quality assurance of data; draft reports; assist in grant administration, budget planning, financial oversight and reporting; implement ethical review applications and processes; supervise junior research staff and students; and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
