About the position

We have a vacancy for a two-year Postdoctoral fellow at the Chemical Engineering Department (IKP), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway. The position will start in June 2021.

The successful applicant will work for the MOGLiS project. The MOGLiS project (MOF@rGO-based cathodes for Li-S Batteries) is an EU M-ERA.NET project based on international collaboration between the Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), SINTEF industry (Norway) and NTNU. The objective of the MOGLiS project is to develop and engineer flexible Li-S cathodes with high electrochemical performances in Li-S batteries.

The NTNU team will focus on the optimization of the MOF-decorated graphene-based nanosheets. The candidate will be involved in the design, fabrication, and characterization of 2D materials-based nanocomposite films for new architectures suitable for cathodes in Li-S batteries. The fabrication may require experience in solvothermal synthesis, characterization, nanocomposite design, and thin film fabrication.

The selected candidate will join the Membrane research laboratory (Memfo). The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for the fabrication and characterization of nanocomposite membranes and thin films. For more information on the Memfo Lab, please see this link.

The position will report to Prof. Liyuan Deng.

Duties of the position

  • Do research work in collaboration with partners in the MOGLiS project
  • Assist and collaborate with other members of the research team
