Salary in range of £51,034 – £59,135 per annum. London Allowance of £2,134 will be payable in addition to salary.

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer in Sociology in the Department of Law and Criminology. There are three posts available. One is in the area of Sociology, one is in the area of Criminology and Psychology and one is in the area of Law. 

The Department of Law and Criminology at Royal Holloway University of London is a forward thinking, multidisciplinary and research active department, where we offer undergraduate programmes in Law, Criminology & Psychology and Criminology & Sociology, together with Masters programmes in Forensic Psychology, Consumption, Culture & Marketing, Policing and Criminal Justice and Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies.   The Department is also home to an energetic postgraduate research student community.  

We seek outstanding teachers and researchers to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. Applicants should possess the broad range of skills needed to teach effectively and as well as core teaching within our existing programmes should be able to contribute to and develop the Department’s teaching portfolio at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including the supervision of doctoral students and the development of specialist options within the Department to reflect specific areas of expertise. We also expect colleagues to contribute to the effective administration of the Department taking on key leadership roles, where appropriate. 

We have three posts on offer and each of the positions include teaching undergraduate core subjects. Both the sociology and criminology and psychology posts will require colleagues who have particular expertise in teaching quantitative research methods. Candidates with additional experience of delivering and administering distance learning programmes will be particularly welcome. For the law post we are particularly interested in applicants in the area of Property Law (Land Law or Equity and Trusts). All of the posts will be on our research and teaching track.
